BLACKBURN Rovers and its disabled supporters club have agreed on a new name after Ewood Park bosses raised concerns about the use of the football club’s name and logo.

The updated title was approved last week by the organisation for disabled fans’ membership along with a revised constitution.

Its official new name will be the ‘Blackburn Rovers Independent Disabled Supporters Club’.

Spokesman Jim Wareing said: “The club is now autonomous and not accountable to the Rovers for financial and administration matters, but will continue to enjoy a good working relationship with the Rovers.

“The in-bank funds held in the previous name will be transferred to the new name .”
