CHILDREN from a Blackburn primary have been lapping their school – covering the distance to Nepal – to raise money for Save the Children.
Youngsters at St Thomas’ C of E Primary School chose the charity because of it’s work with children affected by the country’s recent earthquake which left thousands of people homeless.

Victoria Hargreaves, a class teacher at the Newton Street school and head of the school council, said: “All of the children have taken part and we have walked the equivalent distance of Blackburn to Nepal.
“Children have been doing laps around the school to make up the distance over the past four weeks during playtime and lunchtime.
“It has become competitive with children from nursery to Year Six trying to do more laps than their friends.
“We’ve also made a display in the school hall from the the walk.
“The children were really keen to support and help Save the Children after hearing about the earthquake in Nepal.
“They’ve raised £427 in total.”
