After its official opening by Deputy Mayor Councillor Hussain Akhtar, former Blackburn with Darwen borough health and social care boss Cllr Khan, who oversaw the development of the upgrade, visited the complex.
He said: “Ensuring we are able to provide for all residents is a key council priority. The facility is great and I know the centre will continue to go from strength to strength.”
The centre, now jointly run by Age UK and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, provides elderly day care and is also a community hub for everyone.
An open day is planned for Thursday, August 20 where people can come along and try out activities such as tai chi, arts and crafts, baking and gardening.
