POLICE are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Blackburn.

The 37-year-old told a group of youths to keep the noise down on Bowen Street at around 11.30pm on Friday.

One member of the group is then believed to have approached the man’s car and hit it with a scaffolding pole.

Another youngster punched the victim in the face. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

One of the offenders is described as white, approximately 18-years-old, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 9in tall, clean shaven with mousey blonde hair that was long on top and shaved at the sides and back.

He is believed to have been wearing dark trousers, a blue zipped tracksuit top and trainers.

The other offender is described as white, approximately 18-years-old, 5ft 10in tall, slim build, dark brown hair that is short at the back and sides.

He was wearing a white long sleeved top, dark jeans and was carrying a scaffolding pole.

DS Steve Acres of Blackburn CID said: “This was a serious attack which left the victim with nasty injuries to his face. An investigation to identify those responsible is already underway and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information that could assist with our enquiries to contact us as soon as possible.”
