A BLACKBURN fitness class shimmied their way to raising £1,650 for East Lancashire Hospice.

Instructor Tracy Baines organised the two-hour Zumba and aerobics marathon to benefit the hospice as she said the group wanted to support the local charity which helps people in the community.

She said: "We were hoping to raise about £1,500 so we have smashed our target by getting £1,650.

"We are really pleased with this amount and everyone had a fantastic afternoon.

"We wanted to raise funds for the hospice as it is an excellent charity and helps so many people in our area."

Fundraiser Kimberley Hall said the group had done a fantastic job in exceeding their target: “The money they have raised will go a long way to provide care to our patients; whether they stay in the hospice, come for the day or we go to them in their own homes.

"The group should be very proud of what they’ve raised which will help to care for those with life-limiting illnesses in their local area."

Tracy’s classes are held on Mondays at Brownhill and Wednesday and Thursdays at Salesbury and are body blast and Zumba.
