A BLACKBURN man has been arrested after an incident in which a yob head-butted a train window.

A row broke out as the Blackpool North to Manchester Victoria service pulled into Preston station at 11.30pm last Saturday.

Both men were injured in the fight – with one man going onto the platform before striking the window then returning to the carriage for a further exchange of blows.

A 30-year-old man from Chorley and a 26-year-old man from Blackburn were arrested, interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer PC Adam Heslop said: “Following a verbal altercation on board the service, one man left the train to speak to a member of station staff.

“As he walked along the platform he headbutted the train window, where the other man was sitting, before boarding the train again.

“Both men sustained injuries in the violence that ensued .”
