A 34-YEAR-OLD man pushed his ex-partner during a row when she returned to her house after a night out when he had been babysitting.

Blackburn magistrates heard that when police were investigating the assault they discovered Jason Lee Avakian had not been living at the address he had given as part of his Sex Offender Register requirement .

Avakian, of Burnley Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Cheryl Hurst-Lomas and failing to comply with requirements of the sex offender register.

He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said Avakian had been convicted of attempted rape in 2001.

He had been jailed for four years and put on the sex offender register.

“When police were investigating the incident they discovered he had not been living at his registered address for eight months,” said Miss Allan.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client accepted he had lost his temper and pushed his ex-partner.
