Following the publication of the statutory proposal there is a four-week period for submission of comments on the proposal.

At the end of the representation period the statutory proposals will be considered by the Blackburn with Darwen Council. A decision is expected in June.

A spokesman for the school said: “The proposal will have no effect on our current years 12 and 13 students.”

The school made the original decision to open the first consultation when it only had 19 students on its roll our of a potential 150.
