POLICE who entered a Blackburn house noticed the electricity meter had been bypassed.
Blackburn magistrates heard subsequent inquiries by the electricity company showed no top ups had been bought by the customer since the meter was installed two years earlier.

Dale Anthony O'Neill, 34, of Skye Crescent, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to dishonest abstraction of £1,828 worth of electricity and possession of cannabis.
He was sentenced to four weeks in prison to run concurrently with a sentence he was already serving.
