A CAR driven by a 17-year-old girl was like a pinball as it careered down a busy road on its side bouncing off other cars.

Blackburn magistrates heard the driver, a provisional licence holder who was not accompanied, climbed out of the car unscathed but the occupants of two of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Six vehicles were damaged during the incident on Audley Range, Blackburn, at 6.10 pm on May 16. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was referred back to a youth panel to consider whether she could be dealt with by way of a caution.

The court heard the girl was driving along Audley Range towards Lower Audley when she struck the wing mirror of a parked Honda Insight.

She lost control of her car and collided with the rear of a Vauxhall Corsa.

The force of the impact flipped her car on to its offside and it continued along the road colliding with a Chrysler Voyager, which was heading in the opposite direction.

It continued on an hit a Citroen C4 estate, also travelling in the opposite direction, which was pushed into an unattended Vauxhall Astra.

The girl’s car rebounded back onto the correct side of the road and came to rest still on its side.
