A MUM was taken to hospital yesterday after falling 10ft from a rope swing onto rocks.
The 52-year-old was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital after falling shortly after 1pm in woods off Billinge Lane in the town.
The woman, who was with her children at the time, suffered head and leg injuries and was transported down a hillside on a stretcher by the fire service and paramedics.
Acting watch manager Lee Garnett said: “On arrival, ambulance crews informed the fire service that they required assistance in transporting a casualty down the hillside after a fall from a rope swing.
“The casualty had been using the swing along with her children and fallen onto some rocks.
“She suffered head and leg injuries and was transported down a steep hillside on a stretcher by the fire service and the ambulance crew, and conveyed to hospital for treatment.”
