FIREFIGHTERS tackled two incidents started by cooking equipment yesterday.
A crew from Accrington fire station attended a terrace house in Holland Street, Blackburn, when smoke from an oven set off the resident’s fire alarm at about 12.36pm.
In Burnley, about an hour later, an overheated grill pan started a small fire at a house in Airdrie Crescent.
A neighbour turned off the power supply to the appliance, meaning the fire crew only needed to investigate the incident and ensure the area was safe.
