STUDENTS at Blackburn College are being given the chance to visit some of the world’s most prestigious sporting events.
Those on the BTEC Level 3 sport qualification will be offered the opportunity to attend events including the World athletics championships, the Rugby World Cup and a stage of the Tour de France, as part of the college’s commitment to providing the best possible learning environment.
They will also have access to a gym, exercise studio and rooftop football pitch after the college secured a partnership with Blackburn Youth Zone. Leadership training in South Africa will also be on offer.
Alastair Mollon, head of sport at Blackburn College, said: “These trips are once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and they are all about raising our students’ aspirations and inspiring them that nothing is out of reach. They are also a great way to inject some focus and enthusiasm in to their courses.
“The sport course is perfect for learners who have a passion for sport and want to gain qualifications that will help them find employment.
“If you have a genuine passion for sport and would like to find out more then we’d love to hear from you.”
