A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car went down an embankment after a crash.
Firefighters were called to the scene after two cars collided at the bottom of Yew Tree Drive, Blackburn, at the junction with Preston New Road, yesterday at 9am.
Blackburn fire station watch manager Steve Johnson said: “We were called by the ambulance service in case the roof needed to be cut off the car, but the young woman inside managed to get out herself.
“The car had gone through a fence and down the embankment but the airbags hadn’t deployed so the car hadn’t gone through a great deal of trauma.
“We helped the woman into the ambulance and she was taken to hospital for checks.”
