Pupils in Blackburn hold charity day to help brave Huzaifah
1:26pm Thursday 21st February 2013 in Blackburn
Huzaifah Valli with his school friends
A BLACKBURN school held a ‘Wear it Red’ day for pupils to mark congential heart defect awareness week – a condition which affects one of its pupils.
Brave Huzaifah Valli, nine, was diagnosed with the complex condition at just two days old, and recently had a pacemaker fitted to keep his heart beating regularly.
Huzaifah, of East Park Avenue, Blackburn, and fellow pupils at Feniscowles Primary School, in Livesey Branch Road, went to school dressed in red for the day.
The youngsters also made donations to raise money for the cardiac ward at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where Huzaifah has undergone three open heart operations.
