Robber snatches woman's phone in Blackburn
12:12pm Friday 8th February 2013 in Blackburn
A WOMAN was robbed of her mobile phone as she walked home through Blackburn.
The 35-year-old had her Nokia phone snatched by a man as she walked along Garden Street shortly after 7.15pm on Wednesday.
Police said the thief did not use any violence, and ran off.
DC Richard Buckle, of Blackburn CID, is now urging anyone who witnessed the robbery to come forward.
He said: “I urge anyone who saw anything suspicious, or knows who has committed this crime, to come forward.”
The thief is described as white, between 25 and 30 years old, around 5ft 8ins tall, and slim.
He was dressed in pale blue jeans, dirty white ankle-length trainers, and a beige jacket with the hood pulled around his face.
Anyone with any information should call police on 101.

Given the prevalence of these kinds of thefts, wouldn't it be far better that you state this..
'Anyone, with an ounce of common sense, that owns an iPhone, should download the app, 'find my phone'.
Whereby, using satellite stuff and Google maps, ye olde bill can find that scoundrel and then give the beggar, a right duffing up in our cells.'
Works for me..

If your phone does apps, from where ever you get them, do that thing.
And keep with you, the IMEI code, of the phone. It's written under the battery.
This can be used to find the phone, using both Cellular and GPS stuff.
Am nearly a pensioner here, and I'm teaching this stuff to kids...all wrong.

ste.g: spare a thought for those of us who have to use that road to get anywhere at all. If I didn't use Garden Street at 7.30pm, I wouldn't be able to go out after dark!
