TWO gastropubs are raising money to buy defibrillators.
The Three Fishes in Whalley and the Clog and Billycock in Pleasington, Blackburn, hope to raise enough during National Heart Month to buy the machines, which can deliver a life-saving shock to the heart if someone is having a cardiac arrest.
All members of staff will be trained to use the machines and any funds raised above the required amount will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.
Three Fishes general manager Peter Robinson said: “As the pub is located in a rural area we are isolated in the event of an emergency.
“It is important that our customers know they are in safe hands when dining with us.”
