Their ‘Respect You – why be like the rest?’ campaign invited 13-19 year-olds to create a video on their views on risk-taking behaviour in a bid to win an iPad.
Aspiring rapper Sophie Thompson, who attends Blackburn Youth Zone to record her music, based her video on her own real-life experiences. She said: “It’s important to make people aware of what drugs can do and that they can ruin lives.”
Dominic Harrison, joint director of public health for NHS Blackburn with Darwen, said: “This has been a great opportunity for young people to make their voices heard on issues that can have dramatic effects on so many lives.”
