DESPITE being accused of being a subject obsessed with the past, the history department at our Lady and St John’s Catholic College in Blackburn has become the first in the school to embrace the future and use iPads during lessons.
Accessing the school's wireless network, the pupils from 10A history were able to use the iPads to help them with their research into the Civil Rights Movement in America during the 1950s and 1960s.
For some of our students this was the first time they had experienced the new iPad. However, by the end of the lesson students were browsing Safari with ease and designing presentations on Keynote.
