12:49pm Thursday 13th December 2012 in Blackburn
EAST Lancashire woke up to a natural winter wonderland yesterday after a deep frost hit the region.
On one of the coldest mornings of the winter so far, temperatures dropped as low as minus six degrees in some areas.
Met Office forecasters said that while temperatures were likely to remain freezing on Thursday and Friday, the weekend was expected to be brighter.
The Met Office said that on Saturday temperatures could reach five degrees while it could be six degrees on Sunday.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to be the last one in your street with a frosty coating on it.
There are many grants available for keeping your home warm, that include free loft insulation, to a depth of 150mm (or 6inches in old money).
Also available is free cavity wall insulation through the same scheme.
Whilst I do wish you all, equally, a long and miserable existence, please be assured that I want you to stay warm while you are doing it. There's nothing worse than people trying to give you the V sign, when they have fingers missing from frostbite!
From me and mine, to you and yours, Happy Holidays.
