Knockout deal for Blackburn haulage firm

A BLACKBURN haulage company has launched a new delivery service across the north, unveiled by Olympic gold medal winning boxer Nicola Adams.

Established in 1933, Kenyon Road Haulage occupies a 6.5 acre site, just a minute from junction six of the M65.

It has 90 staff and an annual turnover upwards of £9m.

It owns and operates 70 vehicles and 120 trailers.

The enhanced distribution service is centred on a new £500,000 hub operation based in Leeds.

The firm, a member of Palletways, which distributes small consignments of palletised freight, is offering businesses shorter order lead times for deliveries across the north, as well as a more environmentally friendly service.

Previously Kenyon would deliver goods in the north via hub operations in Lichfield, West Midlands and Livingston, Scotland.

As part of an 18 depot-strong northern network, the firm will distribute its customer goods, collected earlier in the day, into the hub for onward delivery by another Palletways member to their final destination in the north.

Boxer Adams, who was the first British woman boxer to win an Olympic title, brought her historic medal to show staff at the official opening.

Wayne Kenyon, from Kenyon Road Haulage, said: “The development of the new hub operation enables us to enhance our delivery service and open up new business opportunities.

“In addition, due to the location of the hub in the north, we will drastically reduce the mileage our vehicles travel and associated carbon emissions, which will boost our green credentials and those of our clients.”

Well done for showing some initative to boost business in such dreadfull times that we are going through and still will be in the next ten years or more according forecasts. Osbourne... his ideas for getting the debt down is going belly up and after the austerity we have been through we are worse off now than when the spivs took over.(not elected). He as no proposals to bolster growth in the economy all businesses should be protesting against these extended austerity measures and forcing the chancellor to create some jobs and forget the triple A rating. Also the sleeping sheeple need a shake or two to wake them up to the deception in plain view.

The complete rail network needs a overhaul houses need building and refurbishing theres not a road in the country (London exempt) you can drive down without damaging your shocks. The countries turned in to a sh1thole and this government don't give a f@rt about it or its slaves.
