A ‘MUCH improved’ primary school has received a good Ofsted inspection.
Lower Darwen Primary School, in Milking Lane, was rated ‘good’ by inspectors during a recent visit.
The school has 280 pupils on the register and is larger than the average primary school.
Inspectors said: “This is a good school. In this much-improved school, pupils get off to a good start in their learning in the caring and inclusive Early Years Foundation Stage. Progress for pupils is good through Key Stages 1 and 2 resulting in above average standards by the end of Year 6.”
Deputy headteacher Kerry Murray said: “It was a very positive inspection and as a school we are happy that the hard work of all our pupils and staff has been recognised.”
