A PENSIONER who suffered a serious fall died while recovering from her injuries, an inquest heard.
Wilpshire-born Doris Sheppey, 69, was admitted into the Royal Blackburn Hospital after fracturing her right leg in two places during a fall at her home in Montrose Street, Brierfiled, on November 3.
She had surgery on her leg, but continued to deterioate.
She died on November 14.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mrs Sheppey died from pneumonia and chronic obstructive airway disease.
East Lancashire coroner Michael Singleton adjourned the inquest until January 16.
