A BLACKBURN Rovers player is being lined up to open the new British Heart Foundation furniture and electrical store in Blackburn on Tuesday.

The unnamed player will join the Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Zamir Khan and shop volunteers in Darwen Street at 10am.

The new store will provide affordable second-hand furniture and electrical items for the local community. Generous members of the public have donated everything from suites, sofas, chairs, dining sets, beds and wardrobes plus an array of electrical items including TVs, Hi-Fis, washing machines, fridges and dishwashers. All the money raised will help the BHF continue its fight against heart disease – the UK’s biggest killer.

Trudy Warburton, area manager, said: “So far we’ve had a brilliant response from the local community and we’re hoping that people will support us on our first day by coming in to have a look at all the bargains available.”

Anyone interested in helping out at the store, call the manager on 0844 848 9615.
