Ex-Westholme pupil and Corrie actress Helen Flanagan set for jungle

FORMER Westholme pupil and Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is aiming to steam things up in the jungle on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!

The 22-year-old is planning to bring some glamour to the jungle as she revealed she is taking three bikinis into the rainforest.

The blonde bombshell said she can't wait to rough it in the wild and show the millions of TV viewers how different she is away from her soap character in real life.

Helen, who quit the Coronation Street cobbles in February after 12 years, said: "People don’t expect me to be in the jungle and one of my big reasons for doing I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is I like to have different options. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket and I like to take things how they come.

“I also always go with my instinct too and when the offer came through, it felt right to do this.

“What’s so nice about this show is I can go in as me. It won’t be my toughest role yet because I am being me rather than someone else.

“People say you make friends for life and so I am really excited about making some new friends in the jungle.

“It will be good to discover things about myself too – my different strengths and weaknesses.

“I will make sure I am tanned, manicured and I have got my lashes on!”

Helen said she is determined to brush off her fears of creepy crawlies and heights when she enters the jungle.

She said: "I will deal with it when I get in there. I deliberately kept myself busy before flying out to Australia so I would not think too much about what lies ahead.

“I am fearful of heights. I have never jumped out of a plane and I don’t even like rooms high up in a hotel.

“I will scream if I see a spider at home but we will all be in the camp together and we will all deal with it.”

While she’s in the jungle, eating grubs and sleeping rough, she will miss her sister’s 20th birthday.

She also said she would miss her boyfriend Scott Sinclair, who plays for Manchester City.

She said her dream camper would be someone funny who will make her laugh.

I’m a Celebrity 2012 begins on Sunday, November 11, with a 95-minute opening episode following the X Factor.
