Blackburn thug jailed for attack on pair

A MAN who launched an unprovoked attack on a couple in nightclub has been jailed for 20 months.
Paul Donlin, of Layburn Road, Blackburn attacked the pair as they enjoyed a drink in the Liquid and Envy nightclub in Blackburn town centre in early hours of June 23.
After spotting the pair the 30-year-old crossed the club and punched the man in the face knocking him to the floor.
The female victim who tried to come to the aid of her drinking partner was also struck.
Appearing at Preston Crown Court, Donlin admitted assault occassioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.
Judge Graham Knowles sentenced him to 20 months in prison for assaukt on the male victim and four months in prison to run concurrently.
