Investigation launched after malicious call to Darwen firefighters
3:37pm Sunday 21st October 2012 in News
AN investigation is now underway after a false alarm brought Darwen firefighters to a town landmark in the early hours of Saturday.
Firefighters received a report that the old Liberal Club in Hollins Grove, Falcon Avenue, was ablaze, just before 1am.
But crew manager Pete Derbyshire said that when firefighters arrived at the scene there was no sign of any incident.
The telephone number of the original caller has been retained and has now been passed to Darwen police for investigation.
