Pensioner dies following Haslingden accident

A MOTORIST who crashed into a lamppost has died four days after suffering a suspected seizure at the wheel.

Edward Rogers, 89, was driving along Blackburn Road, Acre, Haslingden, shortly after 1.45pm on Wednesday when he collapsed.

He lost control of his blue Citroen C4 before colliding with a lamppost.

A female driver and her five-year-old son, who travelling the opposite way when Mr Rogers’ car veered across the road, were also taken to hospital.

Both were treated for shock and minor bruising.

Road traffic officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
