Blackburn crash driver now in stable condition

A MAN severely injured in a head-on crash that killed two friends is still undergoing hospital treatment.

The 59-year-old from Poulton-le-Fylde was driving a Ford Focus on Preston Old Road, Feniscowles, when it collided with a VW Golf at 11.10pm on Wednesday.

The two men in the Golf, 35-year-old driver Jamie Dickson of Bamber Bridge died at the scene, and 34-year-old front seat passenger Kevin Evans of Blackburn, died a short time later.

A police spokesman said the Focus driver had sustained leg and internal injuries, and his condition was now ‘stable’, having spent some time in the intensive care unit of the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
