Burnley man on £11k fraud charge

A 42-year-old man appeared before Burnley magistrates, accused of frauds to the tune of almost £11,000.

Shahin Alom Syed, of March Street, is accused of a £4,000 fraud by false representation, in 2009, obtaining services dishonestly and a £6,800 fraud by false representation in January 2010.

The defendant’s case will be heard at the crown court and he was bailed until December 11, for committal proceedings. Syed did not indicate pleas.
