DARWEN history and heritage group Darwen Days launched its new DVD, Real to Reel, at a coffee morning at Darwen Library.

The DVD has footage of Darwen charting 100 years, and is the second DVD to be produced by the group.

Darwen Days founder Dave Owen said: “There was a great turnout at the event, and we managed to sell a few copies.

“It is important to preserve the history of Darwen for future generations.”

The DVD costs £6 and is available from Slater’s Ink Shop, Bolton Road, the card shop in the market, Brenda’s Collectables, on the three-day market, Darwen Library, and Harvest Animal Feed, in Heys Lane.

Mr Owen has also appealed for anyone wishing to donate memorabilia to get in touch. Call 01254 690980.

OMG I hope it can't be mistaken for an offensive weapon. Darwen has enough of them as it is.

It’s always interesting to look at past times to see how we used to live and how we have progressed. But wouldn’t it be wonderful to travel ahead in time to compare how we really live today with what will be our future then.

There’s always room for improvement in whatever we do. Nice one Eileen!
