Darwen gears up to remember the fallen

DETAILS have been released of three Remembrance services in Darwen.

On Saturday, November 10 at 11am there will be a memorial in Darwen Market Square. A short service will be held outside the Darwen Town Hall, followed by wreath-laying at the Belgrave Square Boer War Memorial.

On Remembrance Sunday, November 11, St Paul’s Church in Hoddlesden will host a service at 9.15am, and at 11.55am a wreath laying service will be at the Hoddlesden War Memorial.

At 2.30pm on November 11, St Peter’s Church in Church Street, Darwen will host a service. Afterwards, organisations may wish to transfer their wreaths to the War Memorial in Bold Venture Park, where a service will be held. A bus will be available.

And if the fallen could see the world the politicians have created for us, they would turn in their graves.

I think I'll spend £0 on poppy's this year.
By that's generous of me that's £5 more than I donated last year. :-)
