CLUE CCTV of the incident at the playground in Earby
POLICE have issued images of a couple with a toddler who they suspect stole a child’s scooter from a park.
The scooter was stolen from a playground next to Earby cemetery on Sunday, October 7.
The victim, who is 12, had saved up his own pocket money to buy the £135 specialised stunt scooter, only to have it stolen two weeks later.
He went to the park at around 12.45pm to play football with his friends and leant his scooter up against the playground where the toddlers play.
He could see the scooter from where he was playing but was distracted by the game.
When he went to collect it 30 minutes later it had gone.
CCTV footage shows a couple leaving the park with a toddler who is riding on a scooter in between them.
Police are keen to trace this couple and have appealed for help.
PC Vicky Beverley said: “The little boy is devastated by the theft of his treasured scooter which he has saved for eight months to pay for.
“I would appeal to the local community in Earby if they have seen or know who has his scooter to come forward so that it can be returned to this young boy.”
The scooter is a MGP specialised stunt scooter, it is all white with black designs running down it.
It had red grips and red wheels.
Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
