Barnoldswick man cautioned over female bus driver assault

A MAN has been given an adult caution for assaulting a female bus driver.

The Lancashire Telegraph ran an appeal at the end of September asking for witnesses to come forward to the incident, which happened at around 3.40pm on September 9, on the number 28 Lancashire Bus Mainline service from Colne to Earby.

The man got on the bus in Colne with hot food and was told that it was not permitted.

He then threw the food in a bin before approaching the female driver and punching her on the arm.

As a result of the appeal a 35-year-old man from Barnoldswick was interviewed and given an adult caution.

People who attack transport staff should go to jail

Maybe it would be better if the police named and shamed people who treat others with such disrespect - why allow the veil of anonymity in this instance?
