Guide dog training hits Burnley

GUIDE dogs will take over Burnley town centre this week as part of a charity awareness day.

The town’s mayor, Coun Charles Bullas, will be in attendance as a puppy training demonstration is held at the town bandstand from 10am on Wednesday.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is holding a series of sponsored dog walks and fundraising events nationwide this week.

Community fundraiser Margaret Hardman said: “Guide Dogs’ Week is so important. It’s our chance to shout about guide dogs, feel proud of what we do, and raise funds to help us reach more blind and partially sighted people.

“Blind and partially sighted people tackle new challenges every day. We are therefore inviting you to step into their world.”
