Woman attacks policeman after he takes her to Royal Blackburn Hospital
A 27 year old woman kicked a male police officer where it hurts after he had taken her to hospital. Blackburn magistrates heard Lindsey Anne Standaloft was abusive to nursing staff before turning on the officer. And the court heard she was jailed in July for two offences of assaulting a police officer. Standaloft, of Hancock Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Garry Flanagan and being drunk and disorderly in Royal Blackburn Hospital. She was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report. Peter Wild, prosecuting, said paramedics responded to a report that a woman in Hancock Street had taken an overdose. When the ambulance arrived Standaloft jumped out of a window and ran off. When PC Flanagan found her she was clearly extremely intoxicated. Gareth Price, defending, said Standaloft said she would not have liked to have been in hospital and been exposed to the behaviour she herself had displayed. “There is some insight into what she has done and that has to be a positive,” said Mr Price.
