Over-50s wanted for Burnley group

A CAMPAIGN group that champions older people in Burnley is hoping to attract more members.

Burnley Over-50s Forum plays a vital role in promoting older residents in the borough.

Council leader Julie Cooper said the group gave older people an ideal opportunity to have a say in the community.

She said: “The Over-50s’ Forum can play a vital role in getting the views and concerns of older people across and I can assure them the council will listen. I will make it a priority.

“The forum can help shape council policy and services and play its part as an important voice for the older community.

“That’s why I attend its meetings and why I’d like to see more people getting involved and becoming members of the forum.
