Deadline looms for objection to Darwen homes plan

DARWEN residents opposed to controversial plans to build 133 new homes on land between Pole Lane and Spring Meadows have just over a fortnight to lodge objections with the borough council.

The proposals were thrown out by the planning department in January last year but were officially resubmitted on Monday.

Opponents now have been given a final deadline of October 22 to register their objections with Blackburn with Darwen Council which will require the proposal to be considered at a full meeting of the borough planning and highways committee.

Developers Ruttle Plant Holdings failed in an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate in October.

Marsh House town councillor Simon Huggill remains opposed to the plans.
