AN East Lancashire Michelin-starred chef is to join eight of the world’s most pioneering cooks at a top London restaurant – cooking meals for £215 a head.

Nigel Haworth, who runs Northcote Manor, in Langho, will be cooking at The Cube by Electrolux, on the banks of the River Thames, as part of a new ‘dining concept’.

Nigel and his head chef Lisa Allen will be joined by world-reknowned chefs including double Michelin-starred Sat Bains and Tom Kerridge, Claude Bosi and Daniel Clifford.

The restaurant seats 18 guests around one table, allowing them to watch their meal being prepared in an open plan kitchen.

Dishes include scallops topped with a sweet/sour strawberry and tomato compote, skin-on Jersey Royals and ham hock in a light onion and cream sauce and a modern treacle sponge.

The semi-transparent structure, which has been created to represent Electrolux’s Scandinavian heritage, is on top of London’s Royal Festival Hall, providing guests with views over the river as well as including Westminster and The London Eye.

The chefs, who have been handpicked from around the British Isles, will present a five-course menu using locally-sourced ingredients.

Graham Bremer, head of marketing at Electrolux UK, said: “We are thrilled to have extended The Cube until December 31 and delighted to present such a superb line up of chefs.”
