Haslingden charity seeks support from businesses

A HASLINGDEN charity has launched a new scheme aimed at getting businesses to help worthwhile causes.

Operation Telefund, an Agapao International scheme, will see firms offered cheaper utilities packages, with a percentage of their savings going towards a charity, club or school of their choice.

A futher percentage will go towards outreach work Agapao is doing in developing countries, such as Kenya & Uganda.

Euan Aitken, one of the charity’s trustees, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity. We are all very excited about what this can do, not only for Agapao International but for so many others besides.

“At a time when corporate social responsibility is very much at the forefront for businesses, this is a superb way for them to either add to what they already do or to start something new.”
