Nelson school receives international education award

A NELSON school has been given a prestigious award in recognition of its work in international education.

Whitefield Infant School in Norfolk Street has been given the British Council’s International School Award.

The school’s international schemes include working with artists from around the world, stories from different countries and work with schools from USA, Russia, Canada and Turkey.

John Rolfe, from the British Council, said: “The school’s fantastic international work is not only giving the young people a better understanding of the world around them, but it’s really making a difference to their future prospects too.”
