Appeal for East Lancashire blood donors
12:54pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in News
DONORS are being urged to brave the cold and dark and continue to donate blood.
With an ever constant demand for blood stocks, it only takes an hour to save a life.
Donated blood is used not only in emergencies but also for patients undergoing surgery and receiving treatment for cancer and blood diseases, like leukaemia.
The National Blood Service supplies hospitals with all the blood that they need. But stocks are usually turned over within days.
Anyone aged 17 to 65, weighing more than 7 stone 12lbs and in general good health can donate. To book an appointment call 0300 123 23 23 or visit www.blood.co.uk.
