Darwen charity seeks unwanted gifts
2:36pm Monday 1st October 2012 in News
AGE UK Blackburn with Darwen is appealing for donations of unwanted gifts to help support services for older people in the area.
The charity, which operates from five sites across the borough, as well as many outreach venues, is looking for items that can be used as tombola, or raffle, prizes.
Pauline Walsh, chief officer said: “The only thing we ask is that items are unopened, and unused, for tombola, or raffle prizes. We can, of course, sell used items that are donated in our Darwen shop, so these are welcome too.”
Items can be donated at the charity’s offices, at 4 King Street, Blackburn; the Darwen office, based in Darwen Town Hall; or at any of their activities. Collection can be arranged for larger amounts, or items, on 01254 266620.
