A WOMAN who has admitted sex offences involving a teenage boy has been warned she could be facing a prison sentence.
Michelle Kay, 40, of Venables Avenue, Colne, pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to four charges of sexual activity with a child, plus another offence of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
She had been due to face a trial at Burnley Crown Court.
The offences all involve the same boy, and took place between January and September last year.
Kay, who has no previous convictions, had her case adjourned so that a background report can be prepared on her by the probation service.
She is due to face sentencing at Burnley Crown Court on October 23 and was remanded on bail to that date.
She was also told she would have to sign on the sex offenders’ register.
Judge Stuart Baker told her: "I must make it clear to you that for this type of offending the overwhelming likelihood is that a prison sentence will be imposed.
"You should not leave this court under any misapprehension about that."
