STATE-of-the-art Darwen Vale High School held a community open day on Saturday for potential pupils and their parents who were invited to use the facilities from ICT, sports equipment and libraries.

The school reopened this month and has been rebuilt keeping the iconic frontage.

There will be a second open day on Saturday, September 29, from 9am to noon.

Coun Tony Humphrys, council executive member for education, said: “This new and rebuilt school is simply amazing and will provide a top-class, 21st century education for pupils right across the borough and the community as a whole.”
