Burnley woman woke to burglar in bedroom
12:19pm Wednesday 19th September 2012 in News
POLICE are appealing for information after a woman woke up to find a burglar in her bedroom.
The incident happened at around 5.45am on Friday.
The 34-year-old occupant of the property on Ivan Street was in bed asleep and woke up to find a man in her bedroom.
When the offender realised the victim was awake, he ran from the house, leaving through the front door.
Detective Inspector Marie Haworth said: “Having to come face to face with an intruder in your own home is a deeply distressing experience which has left the occupant shaken and we are keen to trace the person responsible.”
It is thought that the only item stolen was a black iPhone.
Anyone with information can contact police by calling the new non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number FA1204334.
