Ramsbottom charity collection volunteers plea

VOLUNTEERS are needed to help Marie Curie Cancer Care in Ramsbottom.

Greater Manchester Community Fundraising Office is looking for people to spare a few hours a month to help raise cash for the charity, which provides end of life care to terminally-ill patients in their own homes or at their nine hospices.

A full kit is provided along with a list of shops, pubs, cafes and other local businesses who have offered to display a tin. The role involves emptying the tins, counting and banking the money and completing the paperwork.

Helpers are also asked to find new local shops and businesses to take a collecting tin.

Fundraiser Siobhan Heffernan said: “This role can work around you as collecting tins can be picked up whenever you have some spare time.
