TV expert Eric Knowles in Burnley

TOWNELEY Hall will welcome high-profile visitors next week when The Bonham’s Antique and Fine Art valuation team visit on Tuesday.

The privately-owned British auction house is one of the world's oldest and largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques.

Between 10am and 3pm BBC TV’s Eric Knowles, below, and his team will be at the hall offering a free valuation service to visitors who come along with their precious items.

A spokesman for Bonham’s said: “We’re asking anyone who’s got an ornament and always wondered what it’s worth to bring it along to the jewel in Burnley’s crown and you may get a pleasant surprise.”

The hall is open from 12 to 5pm on September 18 but the normal entrance fee of £4 will not apply to anyone wishing to have something valued.

The team will not be broadcasting the event.
