Arsonists target Burnley takeaway

A BLAZE at a takeaway is thought to be a targeted arson attack.

The fire at The Chicken Hut, in Briercliffe Road, saw crews called out at 10.40pm last night.

Two people managed to escape from the fire in Burnley.

The end terrace takeaway was well alight when fire crews arrived and caused fire and smoke damage to the building.

Firefighters at Burnley Fire Station say early indications are that the blaze was started with accelerants.

Firefighters are treating the blaze as suspicious were investigating the scene until 3am.

Investigations are expected to continue today.
