Students help Padiham florist grow
10:19am Thursday 13th September 2012 in News
A TOP East Lancashire florist firm is being given a helping hand to break into new overseas markets by a group of international students.
Colonial Gifts, the company behind the brands iflorist.co.uk and ihampers.co.uk, has four interns from Paris who will spend eight weeks carrying out research into the markets in France, Spain and Italy.
The link-up was organised by the UK Trade and Investment department.
Managing director David Price said: “The international intern scheme has been wonderful for us because you can’t beat local knowledge. We’re a global business and having native speakers carrying out the research and giving us valuable local information is gold dust. The four students have settled in quickly and worked really well with our team here in Lancashire.”
Colonial Gifts, based in Ribble Court, Padiham, won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise earlier this year.
